Edit to the review- its a decent overall unit, especially keeping price in mind. The instructions are useless, but that isn't an issue, the installation is pretty strait forward and there are tons of youtube vids of other brands. Its not truely 30", but about 29 1/2", but that was actually a great thing for me as I was installing in a tight space. What really sours me was the two brackets that attach to the wall to hold the shaft that came with my Range were used- including all the nasty sticky tape like residue, bored out drill holes, friz and all kinds of nasty stuff stuck to them. The Range itself, despite protective film, was scratched through the film during the handling before boxing it- last but not least, the shaft that covers the vent tube is not as pictured, it has vents on the side of it- I wanted the clean metal look of all of the other range hoods like this that I've seen, and no where in the seller's pictures does it show this range's shaft has these tacky vent holes on the side. If the top section were reversible this could be avoided, but it is not, but it may be possible to drill holes on the other end and flip it, thus deleting the nasty little vents. At the end of the day it looks good, functions and the price was great.

This is a great looking and great performing range hood. Most people believe I paid a lot more than I did for it. I have 9' ceilings and it fit perfectly without an extension. I was afraid it might need an extension based on the description, but it fit perfectly with the included parts. In fact, the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the lack manufacturer information included in the box. There is an installation manual, but nowhere is there any contact information about the company; no phone number, address, web address, etc. Had I needed an extension or if a part had been missing or defective, I would have had no recourse except to ship it back to Amazon, which would have been a headache at best. So before you order, make sure all your questions are answered beforehand, because there's no help in the box.

I bought this as it combined simple design and affordability. It's not too loud, has 3 settings and LED lights. Good overall. Downside- It comes with a plug, so instead of running a whip for hardwiring, be ready to precisely place an outlet behind the footprint of the flu so you don't see it. Other than that, 3 thumbs up.
