This range hood works like a charm and is beautiful. It is not as easy to install as they would have you believe, however, and is for a VERY high ceiling. We had to cut down the stainless steel to fit, and it isn't easy to cut. Over all, I love it, and would recommend it if you have someone to install it for you.

Beautiful, functional. 2 drawbacks: everyone who spends much time cooking eventually wacks their head on it! & oooh does that hurt!!!! The good news? You only do it once...Also, it is a dust/fingerprint (headprint...see 1st drawback)collector. I wipe it down at least twice a day. But when clean, it is beautiful & it has great suction, & it is reasonably quiet. Overall, I would buy it again.

So, I think that this hood is for really tall ceilings. Our ceiling is just over eight feet so because of the configuration of the brackets over lapping and chimney being too small in width, i rated this "Just okay for now." It took me two days to install it and I had to modify the L brackets so the chimney would actually fit over the hood. If the chimney is not extended, it is very difficult to get it over the brackets. With some cussing and swearing and help from my patient wife, we got the thing up. Now it looks good. I'm sure that it will work well.
Also, the directions were okay as well. I need more specifics which it didn't give. I felt that this piece was designed by someone who didn't install it more than a few times in different types of settings, hence the difficulty.
Would I buy it again for the price? Now that its up, you bet. But if you would have asked me four hours ago, I almost shipped it back.
Added two weeks later.
So now that it's up and I have forgotten about all the cussing and frustration, I changed from three to five stars. Was it difficult to install? Yes. But it's up and the end product is sturdy, works great, and looks sleek. It is a little on the noises side but sucks air wonderfully. The touch screen is a great feature as well. The LEDs give off enough light and light up the stovetop well. Would I purchase this again for my mom? Yes because I would know what works for installation and what doesn't.
