My wife loves the style, so I thought I was going to win points by letting her pick the hood. I've got schmuck written all over my forehead. We have an island with a 36" stove top. The hood is sitting at the upper recommended distance above the stove. But all I can think is it is wrong for our application and most likely yours. It seems like a quality build and the screens are nice, but that's where it stops. It doesn't seem to pull the smoke in. As a matter of fact, more smoke travels into the house than the hood -- cook meat and the smoke alarms go off. It won't even suck the smoke from the money you burn on this.
I don't suggest anyone purchase this product, not even if all you have is a hotplate.

CONDITION
This worked out well. No scratches or dings.
LIGHTS
The lights are okay, not great but not a "joke" either.
SOUND
It's on the noisy side but you get what you pay for. I don't know why these companies don't sell a version with a remote fan. It would have been totally easy to put the fan part in the attic (it was how our other one was).
BUTTONS
Buttons are a bit odd. Hitting the power button does nothing. The power button is for turning the fan off once it has been turned on by hitting one of the 3 fan speed buttons. Their way is probably simpler electronics, but confusing. At least in the US, when you hit a power button, you expect something to happen.
INSTALL
Easy. We ensured there was solid wood on top and used hefty Spax screws. They include 4 drywall molly's and screws... Kinda scary to think you can mount this to only 1/2" drywall on the ceiling.
Can't beat the price - but would have gladly spent another $100 for a remote fan option.

Make sure you open box when you get it. I did not because there was no damage to box, but when I opened it up I had two dents in the tower. These dents did not come from shipping . When I called it was to late to make a claim .
Instruction are poorly written. You do need two to install this.
