Tried contacting seller prior and after purchase but no replies, even though I called their "contact" number and left a voicemail. I feel like if this thing breaks down then I would be on my own! Shipping was pretty fast, but then again, they're only located couple hours away. The fan can be quite loud on level 3, so I usually have it on 2 or less. It looks very nice hanging over my new island with cooktop. There's 4 LED lights, on each corner, that are pretty nice! The removable filter screens (2 of them) are very loosely held in place, can be easily ejected, but that's also a negative! Overall, you get a cool, modern looking island hood, but quality doesn't seem to be top notch, but it has been functioning for 2 months. I would not recommend if you're looking for quality and requires full customer service, because you would not get either with this. If you're on a tight budget and want a modern look, this will work.

It looked good when I first installed it, other than a couple of small dents in the lower cover. GV company was awesome about getting another cover shipped to me ASAP.
Now that its all hooked up the fan is extremely loud and it sound like the damper door inside keeps rattling loudly like it is trying to open and close.
There are three speeds to the fan on the display, but when you change the speed there is no difference in the actual speed of the fan.
I will contact the company again and post more when I have an answer about the speed and rattling.

Still no response from the company about my problems, they responded very quickly at first and repalce the lower cover that was dented. But now they won't respond to my emails.

This is an excellent appliance, i would consider it as appliance since it fits right in with other appliances. Our kitchen is part of open floor plan so food smell can easily reach anywhere in the house. The powerful suction of this hood removes the order while cooking, we can't even smell it on the 2nd floor. This hood does what it should. I would highly recommend it. The noise at the highest speed is acceptable since fan has to run at faster speed to suck the air, i would consider it is 50% as quieter then normal vacuum cleaner. My biggest concern was the vibration and i am pleased that there is no vibration at all at any speed. I have mounted it with a very sturdy support. This support can handle three times of the weight of this hood. It looks very nice, so nice that i had previously suspended light next to the hood ended up removing them since hood itself looks good.
I have vented the air out of the house using 6" flexible aluminum pipe. I was bit worried since I did not have any straight path from hood to outer wall. It took 21 feet of pipe to vent it out. When i am standing in front of the vent the air can blow my hat off :-) I was careful and with exception of one 90 degree all of the turns are over 120 degree that makes the air flow better.
