This ice maker is fast, quiet, and makes decent sized cubes. It's easy to use with multiple cube size settings, a timer, and auto-off when the basket gets full. I researched ice makers for a couple of months because of their notoriously poor reviews and short lived performance as an appliance. I was surpirsed to find that this one was higher rated than the most commonly reviewed ice machines and even cost less money (when you factor shipping costs). Keep in mind that with any ice maker, you're going to need to clean the inside extremely well. I recommend running a full cycle and simply throwing away the ice after you've cleaned it just to get rid of the plastic odor and taste. But once you've done that, you're good to go. This is one of those types of appliances where you don't want to go with the cheapest one. Trust the ratings on this one and buy it.

After reviewing many different website comments of the numerous ice makers available on the web, I decided to give this one a try. The ice maker arrived quickly and appeared to be packaged adequately, however, upon removing the unit from the box there was a dent in the stainless steel case at the front bottom of the unit. When inspecting the shipping box, there was a small dent present at the front side of the box where the unit had apparently been dropped or crushed at some point in the shipping process. I plugged the unit in and nothing... it was dead on arrival. I contacted the seller and the very next morning they had shipped out a replacement and that unit arrived also very quickly and without any damage of any kind. The seller was absolutely fantastic in making sure that I received a replacement unit quickly and for this I am happy and would recommend this seller to others.
The new unit began making ice cubes very quickly and after trying several different size settings have settled on using the medium size cubes for us. While the ice is more wet than dry, this is not a problem for us as we typically just are placing the ice straight in to a glass and adding liquid beverage, which moots that problem. If collecting ice to place in to a freezer, the ice will freeze together in to a more solid block, which I found very difficult to break apart once frozen. The ice is absolutely the perfect density if you are a person that enjoys eating ice (not recommended because of the risk of damaging your teeth) as it is a softer sort of ice and easier to crush.
The ice maker does make ice much faster if the water is cold/chilled prior to adding to the machines holding tank, so I typically keep a half gallon container of water in the refrigerator for that purpose.
We use our ice cube maker for traveling in our RV and it is able to keep up with our drink needs, however, it is not able to keep up with cooler demands if you want to continually keep drink cans on ice. We initially kept the ice maker outdoors on a table next to our RV but found that it is too hot to keep it outdoors with the expectations of keeping your cooler full of ice especially if adding drink cans that have not been pre-chilled.
I have given this unit only four stars because there was not a half star option... it would get five stars if it had the ability to keep the ice frozen until removed from the collecting bin.
